- Just for clarity, I haven't chosen anything to stay in existence, I'm just one of the people that deletes these pages and I'm not satisfied that the reason you gave was enough. I believe if it is a common place name then there should be an article on it. It doesn't have to link anywhere (as a disambig article would). The same goes for London Road and High Street: we don't need individual articles on each one that exists, but they are very common. -- Graham :) | Talk 11:33, 17 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- Actually High Street already has its own article. Graham :) | Talk 14:09, 17 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

New page: Sakhalin-II
[edit]I just put up a new article ealier this morning. Could you, would you, give it the twice over? WikiDon
- Thanks for checking it out. I did notice you added more information. I didn't know how detailed to get, I figured that the die-hards would follow the links to satisfy their appetite. I wanted to get the bigger brush stokes down pat. About LNG, I was in the middle of working on it, but you just made it go faster, I wasn't complaining, I really would love someone to be there checking my work. I tend to get in a hurry sometimes and let some things get past. Since you work for Shell maybe you can get the main IT guy to let us use some photos? It might enhance the article? Thanks again. WikiDon
- Thanks for also looking @ Sakhalin-I. I must have had a brain fart on the vertical/horizontal, must have done that late (slaps forehead) when I was tired, and then it stayed for almost a year. Thanks again! WikiDon

Harrogate population
[edit]Hi. In your edit here you remove the actual figure given for the Harrogate/Knaresborough conurbation (which I have verified with the census spreadsheet) and replace it with a figure for the entire borough of Harrogate, including Ripon and suchforth, whilst not actually changing the text to reflect that the population given is not for a different area. Please be careful when doing this sort of thing. Morwen - Talk 09:06, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Applepear2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Applepear2.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -SCEhardT 19:34, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Disambiguation Fixing.
[edit]Hi there. I'm a newer member, and I'm starting out by helping to fix links to disambiguation pages. I chose to work on shell first. Proposed deletion of Waag (Delft)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Waag (Delft), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I understand the difficulties in policing recent edits. However, my edits to Train Whistle were good faith edits with cited justification against policy and referencing others opinions on the same manner. They were not vandalism. Reverting a good-faith edit is not involvement. If you feel strongly about this page and care about its content then please get involved and help make the page better. If you are reverting only by reflex against deletion, then please put it back as I edited it, and let a user who cares about the content become involved. I explained, in my edit summary, my justifications, showing them to be good-faith. If you are going to revert the changes of other editors, Please explain why you disagree with my edits. File source problem with File:Halifax Coat of Arms.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Halifax Coat of Arms.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
This is a file I own as I live in Halifax and this coat of arms is on the gate of the parish church and not difficult to photograph. I suspect it was uploaded before everyone became so politically correct! I've no idea how to undelete it perhaps you'd do this and I'll put in the annotation to give it free use status!Rjstott (talk) 12:49, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:13, 25 December 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:13, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Muscat International Airport
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Muscat International Airport requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Hi, Thank you, for uploading this file.
However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Wikipedia is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm some details,
If it's your own work, please include own, amend the information added by a third party, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant. You can also add |claimed=yes

If it's not your own work please provide as much sourcing/authorship information as you are able to.

The article Interocitor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) requirement. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
