Spoiler Warning
[edit]saying they killed anakin's mother is a major plot spoiler, put it after the plot spoiler warning, so you don't ruin it for other people like you did for me. thanks.
- Nice of you to blurt out the spoiler in the discussion. I missed it in the article, but saw it here. Thanks. --158.91.209.9 22:08, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Am I missing something on this page, or does it give absolutely no indication that Anakin destroyed these people? I know this information appears on other pages, but I would figure it is important enough to put on their main page as well.
- And did he destroy the entire race or merely one group of it? I thought I read before that he just wiped out the people everywhere, total genocide, but it looks like what I got was misinformation...right? Kilyle 01:57, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- One group. --maru (talk) contribs 02:30, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- yeha kilyle, it wold be hard for the sand people to attack anakin's son luke years later if anakin had wiped out the entire population. but anyway, what is the sorce for the picture of the tusken male and the tusken female, where was that picture taken —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Manwithbrisk (talk • contribs) 22:14, 28 December 2006 (UTC).
- Holy Christwagons!! That is a VERY large spoiler. The article should DEFINITELY be edited so that the relationship between them and Anakin's mother is put AFTER the spoiler warning. Liquidtenmillion 01:02, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Useless Trivia
[edit]An episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy depicted a Sand Person (preferring to be called "People of the Sand"...does anyone have an idea of where to place this?
Weapons and Equipment
[edit]Would it be useful to add the facts about their equipment and weapons? Their weapons (atleast their rifles, which are musket-like) are from Fort Tusken and other old human settlements, and I think their suits may be sand-suits (or self made, or even a remnant of Tatooine's former technology) from humans, too. Their maces are most likely self made. Most of this information is found in Star Wars Galaxies. 67.87.184.150 16:57, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Minor Problem
[edit]Could somebody fix this sentence? I'm not sure what it's trying to say.
It is also discovered that, because (?)only the richest and most ignorant of Tatooine's environment(?) were taken captive by the Rakata, the Sand People think that outsiders coming to their planet are their long-lost ancestors, returning to destroy Tatooine's environment.
Article name
[edit]Shouldn't this article be named Tusken Raider? Normally articles are in the singular, even for groups. See Barbary pirate. - BalthCat (talk) 20:59, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Images
[edit]I removed two images thinking they were WP:NFCC violations. They're tagged as personal photos, though -- from a museum exhibit? -- but, regardless, they don't add much new and only clutter the page. Please don't restore them. --EEMIV (talk) 04:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Use of name in the movies
[edit]I re watched Star Wars (1977) and they are referedd to as sand people. in which movie are they called Tusken Raiders? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.169.161.1 (talk) 17:51, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
- The prequel movies, IIRC. Expanded Universe as well, to some degree. Harry Blue5 (talk) 20:37, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Bold redirection
[edit]Recently, User:2001:4455:364:a800:8e4:6f88:9843:f92a did a bold redirect to the star wars page. I disagree with this redirection, as Tuskens are very notable even to non-star-wars fans, due to star wars' massive cultural impact. The fact that the article does not have many sources is, I think, irrelevant, given that this is a made-up universe and not based on fact whatsoever.
However, it would be nice to see expansion on sources by checking on interviews from star wars filmmakers and additional lore. But removing the Tusken page entirely removes a good chunk of trivia and pop culture knowledge, which is why I'd advocate for it's restoration as a page.

- I looked at the most recent version of the article, and it is rather poor: really just a ton of plot summary. I _suspect_, though, that thanks to The Mandalorian there are now third-party sources/reviews that dive into the Tuskens and how their depiction parallels various aboriginal cultures in the Pacific and elsewhere. I'm reluctant, though, to endorse merely restoring the previous version of the article. --EEMIV (talk) 03:26, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
