What is the relation between this book and the famous Hanbali Sufi Shaykh, 'Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani's "Sirr al-Asrar" (the Secret of Secrets?) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.18.210.2 (talk) 00:54, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism

[edit]

This whole article has been copied, in many places word-for-word, from the NIH website listed above... http://www.nlm.nih.gov/hmd/arabic/physiognomy2.html... The whole opening of the article is a word-for-word copy from this website... Just because it is at the NIH does not make it available for stealing... Philip of Tripoli vs Philip of Antioch

[edit]

In the article there is a hyperlink on the mention of Philip of Tripoli to the wiki site of Philip of Antioch (also known as Philip of Tripoli) but these cannot be the same people. The translator of the "Secretum Secretorum" was a cleric who did his translation circa 1232 and dedicated it to the Bishop Guy of Tripoli. Philip of Antioch was a king who died in 1225. They cannot be the same people! Please check this. If I am right, you have to remove that hyperlink. Kakorn8 (talk) 07:10, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The links in the opening section for Statecraft and Ethics currently link to Political Aspects of Islam and Islamic Ethics. Should this be the case? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8C3:4180:4210:49E9:F15E:6B7F:750E (talk) 01:00, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

These were probably added because a major part of the text was written during the 10th-century in an Islamic environment. However, the original text was written centuries earlier either in Greek or Syriac, so these links weren't really on point. The lead was overlinked anyway, so I removed some other links too (here). In the future, please be WP:BOLD and remove the links yourself, though don't forget to indicate in the edit summary why you removed them. Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 12:14, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
