- No Jim, the thanks are to you for such a cool article :) --Rlandmann 08:08, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Hi again and thanks for another great aircraft article! Just a couple of quick pointers -
- Please don't modify the standard data section unless using it results in absolute nonsense (ie, "Wingspan" is absurd for the X-Jet, so "Footprint" was a perfectly acceptable alternative there).
- Please don't place articles on specific aircraft types anywhere but at the lowest level of the category tree - eg "U.S. special-purpose aircraft 1990-1999", never just "Special-purpose aircraft".
Cheers --Rlandmann 01:25, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tips! --JimCollaborator 01:31, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip, I have now made the correction. MPLX/MH 05:21, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

People had already cleared up the NLP spam when I checked; so I cleared up the NLP category system a bit. The articles on NLP really need work; but I keep hoping some dedicated NLPer with a bit of balance will get motivated. :ChrisG 14:03, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Circumcision and Anti-semitism
[edit]Hello Jim. I want to thank you sincerely for the efforts that you made on this article. I was very pleased with your contributions and I look forward to working with you in the future. The article has been deleted. I do not know what your feelings were on the value of the final version of the article before deletion. I am appealing the process at Wikipedia:Votes for undeletion. If you have any input I would be happy to see it put there. Once again thanks for going the extra mile for this article with changes less than average of survival. Your da man. Jewish Wikicabal
[edit]Hey! I see on User_talk:Slrubenstein that you seem to be implying there is no such thing as a Jewish cabal on Wikipedia. I'd like to let you know, there is! We're meeting at my house right now—playing cards, eating pasta and drinking whiskey (gotta clean up...pesach is coming!). You're welcome to come join us! :-p (obviously, my tongue is stuck to the side of my mouth...) Tomer TALK 23:14, Apr 10, 2005 (UTC)

Appeal for balanced help with NLP
[edit]Hello JC. The NLP page has had quite a lot of turbulence recently, however, it has also undergone quite a lot of information gathering over the past months. There is a problem with a particular zealous NLP promoter who reverts the page at every opportunity and works hard to remove any kind of good research related to even remotely negative facts about NLP.
I myself am an NLP teacher, but I believe that NLP beliefs should be questioned using rigor and fact. It helps the learning process. Perhaps that is beside the point, but basically I am all for Wikipedia creating a good NLP page. I reckon a purely neutral NLP page is really difficult, but a well researched one with a balanced set of views is an excellent idea.
I believe all that is required is to revert when people are being unreasonable/misbehaving against wiki convention, and revert when people remove researched fact without reaching consensus. The page has just been judged by the "authorities" and a ViewOfAll page was determined by them, so we have a solid re-starting point.
Would you be able to pop in every now and again and revert any nonsense/spamming/ from any zealot? Your balance, education, and reason will be much appreciated. Best regards HeadleyDown 08:44, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
This is to invite you to participate in the next game of Wikifun.
Round 12 will begin at 11:00 UTC on Friday January 20. 2006.

[edit]Hey there, I noticed you listed yourself as open to requests for photos, and was curious if you felt like venturing out of Seattle a bit to help fill in the photos as List of Registered Historic Places in King County, Washington. Cheers! Murderbike (talk) 22:48, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group
[edit]Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.
I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 03:18, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Use of a photograph of yours outside Wikipedia
[edit]Dear Jim:
I am glad to inform you that I have decided to use a picture of yours in order to illustrate my Website and other commercial projects.
The picture was taken from Wikimedia Commons, and as I understand it, you uploaded that picture in that server with the intent to share it with others.
Of course, due credit is given.
The resulting Webpage is the following:
http://sites.google.com/site/aldoloup/articulos/ya-es-el-siglo-xxi-donde-estan-los-autos-voladores
The same page in English and other languages will follow.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to use that picture. However, if you feel in any way that my use of your picture does not fit into your original intentions, please let me know it as soon as possible.
In case you are not the sole and only copyright owner of the specified material so that these copyrights are shared with others, I would appreciate any information you can provide me about anybody else I should contact.
Sincerely yours,
Aldo L (talk) 18:13, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
P.S.: Please excuse me for writing you to your Wikipedia User Talk Page, as I have been unable to find any other contact information in order to reach you. You can reach me via my Copyright Notice & Disclaimer page.
Commercial use of a photograph authored by you
[edit]Dear Jim Collaborator:
I am about to publicize a website containing a photograph of yours, obtained through Wikimedia Commons. The end result is the following:
http://sites.google.com/site/aldoloup/articulos/ya-es-el-siglo-xxi-donde-estan-los-autos-voladores
The same page in English, Portuguese and maybe other languages will follow. A printed version is envisioned too.
I want to be sure that you have no complaints about this use of your work. I really don't want to have problems over copyright issues down the road.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to use your work in commercial ventures.
If you have any issue with this use of your work, please let me know it immediately.
I am acting in good faith, in the firm belief that the license for commercial use that appears in the Wikimedia Commons page of your photograph is completely valid, accurate and current.
Thank you very much.
Aldo Loup.

P.S.: Right now I know you only by your pseudonym, but if you agree, I would like to credit your photograph with your real name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.16.27.225 (talk) 16:53, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
Commercial use of a photograph authored by you
[edit]Dear Jim Collaborator:
It is a honor to contact you.
Some time ago you granted authorization to use a work of yours by third parties, royalty-free, worldwide and for indefinite time. Now, it is in my website and other publishing projects.
I want to thank you for your disinterested kindness. Your work really helped me with my projects.
The page in English language is now available:

Of course, any comments are very welcome.
Once again, thank you very much for your help.
Very truly yours,
Aldo Loup.
