This category is for the listing of subcategories of professional (and important amateur) players of pool (all variants, such as nine-ball, eight-ball, etc.; not including Category:Snooker players, nor Category:Players of English billiards), and for general-resource articles relating to this topic that are not national/regional in nature. No individuals' articles should appear in this category, only in a more specific subcategory. This category should not be forked into separate nine-ball, eight-ball, one-pocket, etc. sections, as it is very rare for players of one such game to not also compete in others, rendering such subcategories essentially pointless.
