Editing links
[edit]Note to the dude who changed my edits: next time, when you edit me, try to bring an improvement to the article. Several of your last edits to this article broke the links the the peoples' pages. Now I need to rework it all. Thanks. olivier 00:47 Mar 4, 2003 (UTC)
Title of page
[edit]List of Portuguese what? This sounds like a list of the language. -- Zoe
- OK, moved to List of Portuguese people. olivier 04:41 Mar 4, 2003 (UTC)
Saints
[edit]What have you been smoking, people? Our Lady of Fatima is not a person (even assuming the apparitions are real, she's definitely not Portuguese), and Isabel of Portugal is actually from Aragon. --Goblin ›talk 04:44, Feb 16, 2005 (UTC)
- Isabel of Portugal is Portuguese by "adoption". The Ogre 17:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Lists?
[edit]I support the people who disagree with the existence of this list. If Wikipedia has categories why should people insist on writing lists. Categories are more useful and practical. Paulo Oliveira 08:47, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Then your problem is not only with this list, but also with several others of the same genre... The Ogre 17:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Is this a joke? Because I have never heard of Hanks being referred to or ever having Portuguese roots. I have deleted him from the list.
- You did well to remove him from the list. Tom Hanks is not Portuguese, even though his maternal grandfather, Clarence Frager, was the son of a Portuguese couple, Manuel Fraga and Maria Inácio. The Ogre 17:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Too extense!
[edit]I have a proposal, why don't we select, lets say, some five individuals in each category and link the rest of them to a more extensive list? Because it's just ridiculous the amount of Portuguese explorers. It's too much! On the other hand, Fernando Pessoa is hidden, how can this be possible? Other Saints
[edit]Saint Beatrice da Silva Meneses
[edit]Forgot to add Saint Beatrice da Silva. Anonymous User talk:205.188.117.69.
- Who the hell (pardon the impropriety...) is she? And, if she is Portuguese, don't you mean Saint Beatriz da Silva? The Ogre 17:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Saint Amedeus of Portugal
[edit]Add him also. Anonymous User talk:205.188.117.69.
- Who the hell (again, pardon the impropriety...) is he? And, if he is Portuguese, don't you mean Saint Amadeu of Portugal? The Ogre 17:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Saint Uncumber
[edit]Add him. Anonymous User talk:205.188.117.69.
- Who the hell (again, pardon the impropriety, probably sign of the terrible sin of incredulity...) is he? And, if he is Portuguese, what the hell (I'm a repetitive sinner...) is his name in Portuguese? The Ogre 17:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Katy Perry
[edit]I removed Katy Perry from this list. Having (remote) Portuguese ancestry does NOT make you a Portuguese person whatsoever. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matthijs J (talk • contribs) 03:19, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

Criteria
[edit]Should there not be some criteria for who gets included in this list? I have started around 100 articles on Portuguese people. Do I add them all to the list? Roundtheworld (talk) 10:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
