The popular vote thingamajig is voodoo. Here's how the Beeb did it:
They added the results in 500 "average" wards together, turned them into %'s and assumed that voting patterns would be exactly the same everywhere! I'd trust a Zogby poll over that rubbish...
Re: context, er... I always assumed that local elections were elections to local council's not a fore-runner of a general election... One thing I have always hated about political analysis in the U.K is the tendency to think the opposite of this... Sheep they are and sheep they shall remain... - User:Alnu

- I think having some commentary is a Good Thing. Politics can be a rather dry subject and having some commentary and context it makes it more interesting...
- Whether the commentary is done in a NPOV fashion is another matter, and that reiterates Morwen's comment that it justifies editing and not removal. Dysprosia 14:10, 10 Jul 2004 (UTC)
