Is this article about a person or a product line?
[edit]George Davies is referred to as both a He and an It. Which does this article refer to?
Tone of article
[edit]The start of this article reads more like an advertising feature in a fashion magazine than something in an encyclopaedia.
Contradiction?
[edit]This article seems to contradict the Next (retailer) article regarding the foundation of Next?!?! Can someone explain?
- According to next's corporate website [1] the account in Next (retailer) is correct. From George Davies (retailer) it sounds like George was the designer for next while J Hepworth & Son was the entrepreneur, so I'll see if I can find something to back that up and clarify the article. --- Richard CHSTalk 15:05, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, it was a joint venture. Terence Conran owned Hepworth, and hired Davies to run the new chain. [2][3] --- Richard CHSTalk 15:10, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- Also remember that Davies was ousted from Next in a boardroom coup, so they're not going to want to overplay Davies' role. User:lawsonrob

Rewrite
[edit]This needs a rewrite. Its too long through inclusion of non-enecyclopedic text, making it resultantly largely unreferenced, with those references that are included not formatted correctly. Some of the references used also go to paysites, which doesn't comply with WP:REF. Anyone fancy joining in can do so here. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 00:39, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
