This list must comply with the biographies of living persons (lists) policy and the lists of people guideline, because it contains material about living persons. Please familiarize yourself with both before editing this list. In addition, note that a reliable source that justifies inclusion in this list must be provided for any new entry.Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourcedmust be removed immediately from the list and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboardIf you are a subject of this list, or acting on behalf of one, and you need help, please see this help page.
I think the biographical dates detract from the page, and can be easily found from the author entries themselves. I'd suggest they be removed. User:jrbray 16 Jan 05
Yes, as it is we should strive for alphabetical. But categorization by period of the works might be more useful. Admittedly, some authors of historical novels span quite a range, such as Mitchener.
Please only list people who qualify as notable under Wikipedia criteria. In general, either the person is already the subject of an article, or they are prominently named in an article (for example, as a member of a band), or you are getting started on writing that article. If the author's historical novel is not mentioned in their Wikipedia article, please include a sourcecitation next to their name in the list. If they are notable, have no article, but are prominently named in a Wikipedia article, please use a piped link to that article (and section) from their name. If you are inserting a name prefatory to writing the article about a notable person, please cite a source here for notability and for their authorship or a historical novel. Thanks. See in particular Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Lists of people. --Bejnar (talk) 17:18, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I'm working with OCLC, and we are algorithmically generating data about different Genres, like notable Authors, Book, Movies, Subjects, Characters and Places. We have determined that this Wikipedia page has a close affintity to our detected Genere of historical-fiction. It might be useful to look at [1] for more information. Thanks.
