What we need
is a fundamental
moral
and conceptual
revolution
about the value of work.
We need to move away
from the notion of ‘production’
— which is very patriarchal —
and back to a notion of ‘caring’
as the primary form of value creation.
Care
is any activity
that maintains or enhances
another's freedom;
that is, freedom as in play.
If we start from that,
then our society
would
make
sense.
