This page used to redirect to impala, as (apparently) palla was listed as a variant of that in the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica. I could find no other reference to palla = impala.
Besides the Italian ball game, the only reference to palla I could find is from Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (G & C. Merriam Co., 1913, edited by Noah Porter):
- Pal"la (?), n. [L. See Pall a cloak.] (Rom. Antuq.) An oblong rectangular piece of cloth, worn by Roman ladies, and fastened with brooches.

Citations needed
[edit]I was just working on some research related to palla and tried to use this page to direct me to sources, but found that there are no citations here. Much of the information I could find in other places online. I posted the "more footnotes needed" maintenance tag and I plan to work on adding some of those citations. Just wanted to post this here to avoid "drive-by tagging." Lmminich (talk) 20:52, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
